"Cornering the word processor market by discriminating against the developers of applications you want to supress (in your role as OS vendor) is at the very least unethical, if not illegal."
Umm, the last time I looked they are a software company. Operating systems ARE software. Also, almost every Linux distro has some proprietary whatever written into it or installed. The difference between the path M$ is taking (M$ written proprietary everything bolted into the OS) and Linux is M$ won't share code. Now, the fact that they OVERWHELM competition (as opposed to gaining market share based on merit) when they release something free to get people hooked (sounds alot like Linux huh?) and write bugs into their OSes so similar third party software malfunctions is illegal. The future should be interesting and I wouldn't miss it for the world!
