Not stupid, just lazy.
Let's face it - do people really go for better products?

No. They often go for products that are easier to get. And guess what? Bundling with the OS (especially an OS that OEMs like) makes them very easy to get. People just use Microsoft stuff because it's just there. They don't feel a need to go out shopping for the best product, because the existing stuff does what they need already.

Let's face it, just because a product is more popular doesn't mean it's neccessarily any better.
