Some of you guys who constantly posit that everyone else should do the dirty work and offer distros, do it yourself. Distros cost money. Sombebody gotta pay. So why not the "Donnie Boy Distro"
, with maintenance and patching, of course. Since you will need a lot of cool new features to differentiate from all of the other cool new distros, you will need the help of a couple of fantastic open source guys. If they decline your offer to do it free, I have an idea. Go to IBM and tell them your glorious plan and that you will need, say $300,000 or so to get it going and , hey, they can download it for free.

Just think, if all you guys go for it - either server or desktop - those of us who just want it free will have lots more choices and, well, that is the name of the game itsn't it?

As customers understand more about open source, they will demand it.  DonnieBoy | 06/08/05
