Let's look at my choices then
If 60% is "good enough", why should I buy a new machine for a
long time? My 4 year old G4 can run native PPC software at 60%
the speed of the new Mactel machines. Why shouldn't I just wait
and buy a new Mactel after they've been out for a while and there's
software optimized for them? After all, with my old software, I
shouldn't see any performance difference between an old G4 and a
spanking new Mactel.
