There are NO "safe" platforms to use on the internet
Be very clear here.

Linux, Unix, Mac, MS, whatever,,, all of them can be cut through like a hot knife into butter.

If you really want security, lose the delusional behavior.

This is NOT about one camp of OS kiddies yelling to another bunch of script coders that "my dog is better than yours".

There simply is too much code with too many complex functions to ratchet them down any time soon.

The fastest solution is to tighten up the internet so that "traceability" can be used to trace the people releasing the code and hacking the net.

Until then, FUBAR
