I'd hazzard a guess here but I'd bet Linux is more like 3% of the desktop market. If it's just home users then maybe it's 1%. But SWAG percentages don't really mean a thing now do they?

This happy with Microsoft kind of made me giggle. Who's happy with Microsoft products? Those with Microsoft shares maybe. Otherwise it's just want comes with the PC and I know for a fact people are not happy with Windows and I bet they would be just as miserable with Linux.

Also the whole market share and viruses thing is a bunch of bull. The reason Microsoft has so many viruses is because the OS is easy or at least appears to be and user who have no idea what they are doing use it. Now you can have them run Windows where they double click the email attachment and the virus runs or you can have Linux where they double click a virus and it does nothing and they user gets upset. What can you do there? Dumb users! I never get virus on my Windows 2000 box but others do. This would be the same with Linux.

Just remember when a Company has 99% of the market there really isn't much place left to go but down.
