What bothers me personally about the Microsoft ads is, how stupid are Gates and Ballmer - don't they know these things will be read in the board room by the same folks that track Fortune, Business Week, Wall Street Journal, New York Times? Anybody who is in the business acquired Windows servers in the 90's when we were busy dismantling the mainframe - remember mainframe bad; server good - and through legacy support we've moved on to Windows 2000 and 2003. We've built up metrics and know just how expensive it is to operate and maintain Windows in terms of staff hours per 1000 user months. We know that the tail of the cost curve ultimately drives Microsoft TCO beyond consideration. And now they throw stuff at us that nobody with a lick of sense could believe. This utter contempt for the customer is just incomprehensible.

Don't know about you, but I want something usable from an outfit with $50 billion in the bank. Seems that could buy good product, not pap.

From here it seems either a) Gates and Ballmer grow up, b) shareholders get themselves some responsible leadership or c) shareholders are in for a rough ride.
