Cost cutting companies destroy domestic jobs!

An all to familiar scenario in EarthLinks past. EarthLink, Harrisburg has been downsizing their operation for quite some time. To me, it only appears to the general population that they are cutting 400 jobs. But they have already swept 100's of layoffs under the caqrpet. I have nothing bad to say about the company they swallowed (MindSpring), however, when they began calling the shot's the tune was changing as was the tide. Some folks, were wise enough to cut ties and move on, others stayed and viewed the Harrisburg center as the unsinkable ship in EarthLinks fleet. I bet those folks are licking wounds now. I really feel for those loosing their jobs and I wish them all well, however, the bottom line is...we need to do something to prevent other large companies from doing the same thing... The previous post mentions "being part of the solution or being part of the problem." I suggest that if you are going to open your mouth in a public forum, then you had better be posting and participating in the various sites that offer stories that track how the government interacts with big business. http://www.cdt.org is one that has a fairly broad spectrum. There are others as well. Be part of the solution and remember that education of the issue at hand is half of winning the battle. Fish
