Maybe becuase...
...They themselves have contributed a great deal to a great nunber of projects? And still will back up the Fedora Project? And because Fedora is still a VERY useable distibution in itself?

Who knows why they think it will work to JUST that end, but having more poeple involved in Fedora is only a good thing, for the distro itself! If RedHat uses whatever improvements and goodies included in Fedora, so be it! Fedora had it first, and its users know it :cool:
