The question is, will Fedora wither or flourish?
Fedora has its problems, but I think it generally works better than the earlier free "Red Hat Linux" distros did. It'd be a shame to see it go, but others would definitely rise to replace it in no time.

However, as it appears to be more or less cutting ties with Red Hat, maybe it'll stimulate Open Source purists to work more with it, since it's separated from the "evil" wink Red Hat.
