Who knew, who cared?
Let me test my understanding.

1. Red Hat priced there OS out of the
desktop/SOHO/small business market which resulted
in the development of CentOS and Whitebox Linux
for those loyal Red Hat users left out in the
cold by the new pricing scheme.

2. Red Hat released Fedora, with a 6 month or
less release cycle as a development and proving
platform for software to be included in the Red
Hat product line.

3. Open source developers declined, in droves, to
be the development resource for Red Hat.

4. Red Hat, having failed to attract developers
to Fedora is now establishing a separate entity,
the Fedora Foundation, the purpose of which is to
attract developers to write software for
inclusion to Red Hats commercial offerings.

5. Red Hat expects this move to be successful
because...???
