And if it really was worth its salt, I would still have Yellow Dog running on my machine. It didn't last a week so I tried Mandrake, you know, to see what it's all about. It didn't last a week either. Had MOL worked better, it might, but playing music via iTunes through MOL just don't work like one would expect. That was a killer, not to mention how much slower Linux is on the Mac vs. MacOS X. Using OOo and Mozilla was just brutal not to mention fonts looked like sheit. So even had MOL been perfect, I doubt it would have stayed on my box. Linux has a long way to go to have 10% of the feel of a good desktop OS like Windows. More if you compare Linux to OSX.

When I read sites like /., the conclusion I get from Linux users are that they are too good to run anything that doesn't have a GPL license. I have read comments that basically equate applications such as Moneydance to garbage just because it contains proprietary code. It sucks because they don't have access to the source. Nevermind basing that conclusion on actual merrits. If the source to Linux was closed, at least they would see the truth about Linux...

The point is, these people are in love with not having to pay for software, which comes via GPL. Never mind the pain they endure using Linux. Being free (as in costless) is a higher priority. Unfortunately for them, they don't know what they are missing and if they do, I would categorize them masochists.
