Hardly Innovation!
Linux did not create the GUI or OS's. Tivo is hardly innovative. Gateway had a PC that recorderd TV to the hard disk long before TIVO. No question TIVO is a better implementation but it was hardly innovative. Besides I think you have the cart before the horse. Someone had the idea for TIVO and then adapted an OS to make it work. Smart Displays and Tablet PC's were ideas Microsoft sold to the hardware vendors.
