Maybe that is what they want?
I asked a tough question yesterday, "What if MS simply says no"? Of course everyone responed with answers like they would be kicked out of Europe, they would be fined, blah, blah, blah...

My counter to that is what happens if all of that comes true? MS could simply say NO, we aren't going to pay your ransom money for fines. (The EU is holding Windows for ransom.) And then they could FIRE every European working for them, refuse to support the 10s of millions of Europeans running MS software, and in general make life hell for them.

Who do you really think the displaced workers would blame? I mean in in two weeks if 15,000 Europeans (well paid by the way) get pink slips because the EU commision forces MS to close the doors, it won't be MS they go looking for with a rope.

Again if NO ONE in the EU countries can get access to the MS web site, can't get downloads they need, can't get updates, have no one to call for tech support, etc. it won't be MS they are looking to roast, it'll be Monti boy and his rape gang.

Keep in mind, there is a HUGE part of the EU population that believes the EU is a bad thing. France recently told them to shove their "Constitution" where the sun don't shine and other countries are expected to do the same. Also consider that there were NO COMPLAINTS from users over these issues, they all came from money men looking to cut a fat hog.

As they users don't really care about WMP in Windows, and all they will see is the EU commison making their life hell, guess who will win in the long run...
