Yep - politics like AirBus are involved all right
By the way, what EU? Seems that one is going down the loo....

MS did comply with the ruling - it has been the EU commission that has been acting in bad faith - pretty much to be expected now by any US company attempting to do business with Old Europe. Read the previous link - the author cannot be painted as a right winger/USA citizen/ MS shill - he's calling a spade a spade here.

Again - don't go complaining that MS is restraining trade due to Media Player (Come on - this is a joke, right?) THEN P&Moan that after it's been removed other media player stuff does not work. Oh yeah, of course it was mean big bad MS that caused the problem - not the road apple code that was USING the now missing MS code base - oh no - now they have to re-write their code so that it works, oh the horror of it all - merde.

And I just love the Interop argument - hey you - yep build that business of yours. But if you get too big - and your competitors are wanting a piece of you, expect to give it to them. And when you want just a piece of the pie that you just bought the ingredients for, baked and placed in the packaging just for them - oh my, that is just way too unfair. After all, MS just does not understand that FREE SOFTWARE is just what it means (not my wording by the way - that one comes direct from ""Microsoft either doesn't understand or doesn't want to understand the idea of free software," said FSF Europe spokesman Joachim Jakobs. He noted that free software is openly copied and therefore the extent of its use cannot be tracked." Infoworld http://www.infoworld.com/article/05/03/18/HNeurejectsmsterms_1.html

EU is not going to ensure anything - this case will be going to Court of First Instance for review, and if pushed will piggyback onto the AirBus debacle at the WTO.
