always been happening..
"All it would take to break down the IP regime is for several big countries (like Russia and China) to decide not to follow the DMCA and have entirely different views regarding copyright."

And hasn't that always been how it's been going? Notice any more compliance with China lately? Or is it the same tune? Think Russia is dying to prop us up? Along with the incipient collapse of the US economy will die US global imperialist power. We might threaten people in the future..but by then they will be laughing at us, like normal people do at the pope nowadays. Because our words will mean crap and hold no sway over anyone (except maybe dumb hic "Americans").
Would it be too hard to imagine that the rest of the world is arming Iraq (exactly the way the US did to the Afghanis during the 80s Soviet invasion) in order to thwart US imperialist efforts? I'd think they'd be too stupid not to at least try. Maybe that's why these 'insurgents' seem to be getting better armed and better focused.
But to get back to the gunk of this, the idea that the rest of the ailing world will willingly give up their rights just to support the greed of Anglo-American "capitalists" is retarded. They only stand to lose big time and they all know it. Hence their non-compliance. They can see (just like the rest of us) that "IP protection" is nothing more than the monopolization of the market through false ownership granted by an institution that is not competent to make certain judgments, especially technical ones, as we all know and have seen.
America will be deconstructed economically, not militarily. Everyone knows they will lose to the US in an all out firefight. So they will strike us down in another way. This is a part of that war..
