I wouldn't bet on it all being from the US!
Microsft has offices all over the world, development no longer has to be centralizedin the US to do that. They can hire the best from any country in the world and with offices all over the world connected with high speed connections, they don't have to be in any given country to develop the code.

Commercial Unix started in the US, it is no developed all over the world, same method as Microsft uses.

Linux started life in Helsinki, Finland (where Linus comes from or was getting his Masters degree). Development is doen from all over the world, the contributors are from the US, Japan, England, ...

Sorry to burst your nationalistic bubble, the work can go where the workers are now, rather than they come to the US.
