Microsoft hates this, it shows they are NOT standard.
And, pretty soon, large companies and governments will be asking for a product that reads and writes to this standard, and NOT Microsofts proprietary format. The proprietary MS Office format is one of the pillars holing up the Windows Monopoly. Without this pillar, things start to get rather un-stable.
