Putting money into augmentation vs new
The economy got us off the upgrade every Nth year. If the equipment is solid, then the every 3 yr thing is justifiable, like so many state agencies have done in the past. Now, its about evaluating value addons - replacing failing CRTs with space saving Flat Panels, buying newer/faster/higher capacity drives, having onsite equipment to deal with hardware/software issues that arise and can't wait for the official IT dept to grace the problem area, etc. It won't be big spending, hopefully it will be smart spending, . . . and if I get a new PC out of the spending, sweet.
