Having just spent the last 5 months on the road we discovered that:
1. They can change the minimum charge for a call from a phonebooth at their whim. Try a 30 minute charge just to make the call! Started out at a 12 minute penalty which was bad enough.
2. If you're not using that companies phone, I.E. using a non-XYZ company phonebooth, they may or maynot honor the card. The other company wanted our credit card to charge against! They wouldn't connect to the 800 number listed on the card and couldn't come up with an excuse when asked why!

PISSED, YOU BET!
