CSC Dedicated - Oxymoron?
I worked for CSC for 10 years. CSC is an expert at crippling a company during the transition, which usually lasts about a year. There may be some validity to CSC's argument, but my guess is it probably pales in comparison to the validity of Sears' complaint.

I cannot count the times CSC committed to provide services and knowingly did so using an operational budget (their term ? cost model) that was grossly inadequate. Net result ? CSC operates at a loss from the first day and senior management ?adjusts? operations to meet the cost model. CSC operates in that mode until the customer senior execs scream in agony and threatens litigation.

In 10 years, I can?t remember a single major account that did not go ?code red? during the first year and 95+% of the time CSC held the majority of the blame.

Outsourcing works if managed properly on both ends and the outsourcer commits to a proper operational budget to support its commitments.
