It only takes one person in an office to drive the need to upgrade ... if that one person knows and uses the tool properly and develops something useful in it, then everyone else will have to have the same version if they want to use that tool.

The vast majority of users don't know how to use the advanced features, nor do they NEED to know how to use them, for a company to still take strategic advantage OF those features.
