But seriously, how many people even use that?
Now I'm not going to sit here and say no one ever uses VBA. You are proof that people do. Even I've used it a couple times for some Access forms. But how many Office users even know what it is, much less use it even once? Programming in Office is so damn complicated that no normal person can ever use it. People shouldn't have to be a VB programmer to use a simple application.

Does anyone remember the days of 1-2-3 where all you had to do was type the keystroke commands in successive cells to program a simple macro? THAT was easy. Nowadays they try to make it look easy by having a macro recorder, but if you need to run a macro that runs relative the the cell you are in the recorder does not work. The keystroke command macro worked every time. Certainly having the ability to use VB for macros and modules gives the user more potential power, but if the vast majority of people don't know how to use it, what good is it?

Well now they have XML as the new feature. That's great for the techies, but the common user can't do anything with it unless they have someone program something for them or they get a third party application that can utilize it. Most people won't need that.
