my conclusion: Sun and Microsoft are really worried by Linux
I noticed in the recent election in the UK, the Socialist
government was extremely worried by the Liberal party, and
spent a lot of time deliberately rubbishing their traditional
enemies the Conservative party, and not talking much at all
about the Liberal party.
I concluded they presumed that by listing the Liberal party
upstart as the main enemy, they'd have given legitimacy to
them.

In the same way I conclude that Sun and Microsoft (traditional
enemies) are extremely worried by Linux, by deliberately
excluding Linux from their "list of three".

How many installations of Solaris are there? How many
installations of AIX are there? How many installations of Linux
are there? How many Macs are there running OSX?

My feeling is only in the fictional world of pink elephants and
flying pigs is Solaris still on the list.
Ignorance is not a legal defence, and in business or war it
usually preceeds massive defeat.
