Malted, milkshakes, and splits
I only read the first reply, and zounds, Batman. I can only infer from a NBR interview on the subject by co-captains of industry, McN and Ballmer, that this is a well tuned experiment and that some time soon they'll convert everything to cobol/mainframe platforms, IBM willing. I don't understand MS, nor underestimate them. As for Sun, what choice did they have (rhetorically speaking)?

Results from this dysfunctional treaty: nothing.

I've worked in a unix shop and MS/Novell, and use Sun for web development. I think a blind man can see the difference, but vision has nothing to do with politics or management. The only excuse for buying MS is stupidity. But MS is like heroin. And it's contagious.
