Oh here's your sign...
?This is purely a financial decision by a struggling company.?
I wouldn't say they were struggling, but they are feeling the pinch of Linux and Mac combined.

?IBM, being mainframe-focused company, don't know jack about websites - their own site proves my point, it must be the worst site on the entire web. The decision to back Firefox is just further proof.?
How do you figure? I find IBM's web site to be easy to navigate and functional. The decision to use Firefox has nothing to do with how their web site looks. It has everything to do with breaking from Microsoft and it's death grip.

?To hell with W3C standards! That body is so cumbersome that very few things ever "officially" evolve, that's why M$ evolved the standards on their own. Not a bad move, considering that they enjoyed over 95% of browser market share ever since the demise of Netscape (and let's not get into THAT debate again, I'm not talking about the right or wrong of it...). Fact is, if you control the market, especially for as long as M$ did, your standard becomes the de facto standard. W3C should have caught up. Period.?
Do you know why the W3C is there? It's to ensure interoperability of the internet with all browsers and OS's. It's not there for your pleasure or mine. They set standards that ALL are to follow so that ALL can use the internet. As for the nightmare Microsoft has created for it's standard, that is the tactic of a predatory monopolist. The internet is NOT Bill Gates and Co. playground IT is for all the free people of the world to access. Regardless what OS or what browser they run.

?Mozilla's decision not to support IE-based extensions to the W3C standards was a strategic blunder. I, personally, will not use Firefox until such time as I can view any website properly on it.?
Mozilla went the correct path and followed the world standards, not some American company. As for viewing web site properly, well if they were written to W3C standards that wouldn't be a problem now would it!

Last week's security issues with Firefox (the first of many to come?) just proves that any software is vulnerable, if it becomes important enough not to be ignored by hackers. This puts Firefox into the sam vulnerability league as IE, so *poof* goes the only reason anyone had to switch to Firefox.
Last weeks security issue was resolved within 7 days... Microsoft still has at least 18 outstanding security issues with it's browser. Firefox is lightyears ahead of IE and will continue to be so. Get off the crack of Microsoft. Join the rest of the intelligent W3C compliant world.

Why do you think only 10% of IBM employees are currently using Firefox? If it was so good, why is necessary to force the other 90% to use it?
Oooohhh this is an easy one! It's called a company standard!!! In other words, they own the systems the workers are using AND they pay their salaries... so ergo they make the rules of operation in house! No how hard was that!?

I rest my case.
I killed your case
