ye,it's the vulnerable 'features' that Linux lacks ...
"ye" keeps harping on about "feature parity" with XP on older hardware when XP is incapable of performing those features on the same hardware.

Why is XP is incapable? Because of the added overhead required to run the third party firewall, antivirus and spyware removers to safely use XP in any environment.

And it's not as if the majority of Microsoft's customers have the choice of running any else but XP, since Microsoft has withdrawn full security support for windows9x and ME and very soon windows 2000. In fact the next version of Internet Explorer is only going to be available for windows XP SP2, that remainding Microsoft users will have to live with the exposed vulnerabilities...

It's the vulnerable 'features' that Linux lacks that make it a better choice for many enterprises. They do not have to replace all the desktops, they have choice to deploy Linux based alternatives at that will cost a lot less than upgrading to XP.
