I agree, corporate interests rule Congress
Most of them being businessmen who used their funds and corporate funds to gain/retain their positions, . . but as far as Hollywood wanting tougher copyright laws, they have laws already, and amendments and the ambigous DMCA. More laws given to corporations is a sad joke. Courts might as well make Disney and the like the legal executors of all wage producing people so they can just take the money directly from the paychecks and forego hocking their wares - a law to force consumer spending.

Our real power here and now seems to be, we still hold the money. No fair balance between consumer and corporate interests, then no consumer dollars. Until Hollywood or the RIAA gets a court order to handle my financial affairs, they can not force me to purchase any of their products, attend any of their events, or form any bond or sense of consumer loyalty (which hurts them now and later). Any company we don't support, we just don't buy their products and hopefully in large numbers so they see and suffer the consequences, . . For now, in most countries, we have that freedom and choice. It's just a matter of making them see that a lot of people will be exercising that freedom.
