Hopefully it will mean more consumer friendly laws
since a slow to act and panicky to re-act movie industry was a serious part of there own problems.

A clear bill of consumer rights needs to be established to balance the continue expansion of corporation copyright laws, or consumers will be faced with no choice but that which the corporation decides (except for no sale which remains a consumer power), and no legal recourse because the laws are corporate sponsored and tailored (thusly stacked to company favor in litigation).

Maybe they should have worked with the accused to create a Linux player rather than sue for the affect of sending a message to the public via a court decision, one that they've repeatedly loss in the country of the accused. With Hollywood's growing free use of OSS and Linux, you'd think they'd address the growing community's desire to play the media they've legally purchased (like the DVD John), but . . . when you let lawyers and accountants run your biz, and you hide the talent and workers in seclusion, you get big biz running at all costs and no victim to small to challenge no matter how much dissatisfaction it may cause.

Hollywood, you can't roll back the clock, the digital age is upon you, and if you choose to be a dinosaur in addressing consumer needs and embracing the tech beyond your animated flicks, you'll find yourself hurting yourself far greater than the hacker at home, or the employee sneaking first run films to the internet before big screen release.

Jack Valenti, the MPAA represents the very thing that'll kill the movie industry, itself.
