Sounds fair to me ...
Everybody has a choice. Use Linux free with any processor or pay the going rate for Windows. The fact is, people who don't have the money for 'real' Windows won't have the money for a P4. Its that simple and in that sense Microsoft's logic does not sound off the mark. Those who are upset over this policy are not likely to be buying Windows OS anyway. So at the end of the day, I have a hard time understanding what the complaint is.
