Are we using the same definition of right?

"What I have told you was in a UK article. I believe it was the
Register. I was looking for the link. It was linked to this
talkback by someone else 4 to 6 weeks ago."

Fine, I await the link.

"Anything can be removed. But it is going to break apps.
Real built on top of this library. Even Mozilla depends on a
few DLL's for Explorer. I found that out by trying to install
Mozilla on Win95 osr2.1. I have removed explorer with
Shane Brooks tool. AutoCAD produced GPFs."

The version Windows XP edition N has been with PC makers
for several months, the breaking of apps [url=http://
www.computerworld.com/softwaretopics/os/story/
0,10801,100703,00.html]claims[/url] to which
you refer are those of competitors claiming MS is being
underhanded. Clearly this doesn't help your case.

"I believe interoperability info is code."

Which is probably why you've fooled yourself into
believing you might be right. The ruling clearly states that
the code is not required!

"Can't pay $1 for it, too bad. GPL doesn't override a
proprietory license. No always trump a yes unless it is a
right. You know this. EC states to make it available. They
want payment which the EC didn't address."

I never claimed it does, simply the GPL prohibits
incorporating the current MS style licensing program. The
EC has the power to force MS to release the specification
under any license it sees fit if they wish to continue to do
business in the EEA, and currently they do not agree that
MS current conditions are reasonable.

"They want payment which the EC didn't address."

The EC has addressed it from the very beginning! Read the
posts, the EC has asked for evidence that MS has been
granted IP protection in the EEA over the specifications (not
code!). This was spelt out in the ruling as a necessary
condition to MS demanding ANY "reasonable
remuneration".

"This is a no win for everybody. MS will pass operational
costs onto everyone."

What costs? If anything once the interoperability
specifications are public, fully interoperable alternatives to
windows will abound. Just what consumer do you think is
losing here (1 example)?

"Antitrust protects the consumer. If you cannot compete
too bad. It is too bad you Nix personnel cannot compete.
Guys like us would pay for a proprietory Nix format for 86
hardware. It will have to support all of it of course. Not just
your favorite devices. I believe you guys are allegeric to
effort and want the courts to do it for you."

Did you mean to say that? Yes antitrust protects the
consumer, what has that got to do with suppliers
competing?

"I believe you guys are allegeric to effort and want the
courts to do it for you."

More of your beliefs? MS was found to have illegally abused
its near monopoly position in the EEA. You do understand
this? MS was also found to have violated antitrust
legislation in the USA, a position upheld on appeal.

What is wrong with you?

And I didn't even have to change a signal line of my
response - because it already answers the entire paragraph
contents. Now I have quoted your entire post verbatum,
maybe now you can post something to counter something,
anything I've said (eg the phantom link)[/u/
