I can see both sides
On one side, countries like Brazil - where Company "F" has had factories for many years - have STRICT import and export regulations. A for instance - sending a CD with the latest Solaris OS is problematic - it gets placed in "quarentine" while the government decides if they will let it in. Same thing for the computer equipment - it stays in holding for MONTHS. Of course, a quick bribe will speed things up - but then the WORKER (i.e. customs official) gets the cash - and NOT the multi-national corp.

Which brings me to the "other" hand. Trade agreements by their nature ONLY include the interests of multi-nationals. We want cheap leather from Argentina. We want to explore for oil in Columbia and Brazil. We want to exploit Paragoian workers to make textiles. On the whole, sending US jobs to Central America instead of the far east is probably a good idea. Make the masses "kinda" happy, and there will be less illegal immigration. But WAIT, the government WANTS illegal immigration! How two-faced!
