BSD actually has the most friendly commercial license of them all
"Last time I checked Linux was not a verson of BSD."

You're right but the BSD license permits its code to be used
in other projects such as Linux provided its licensing terms
are meet (copyright notices etc). This doesn't apply in the
latest code shown by SCO as it was developed
independently by Linus anyway, not copied from Unix V.

"And even if it was, BSD is for noncommercial use."

Really? Then perhaps you should tell freebsd, openbsd
widely used for commercial purposes, and particularly
Apple for their Mac OS X OS. BSD actually has the most
friendly commercial license of them all.
