Just adhere to standards
RFC1738 says that URLs, especially those longer than 80
characters, should be enclosed in <> brackets. Any
sensible OS or application should be able to recognize URLs
that are properly delimited and strip out any spurious
linefeeds or carriage returns that have been inserted. Just
as an example, when I click on a properly delimited URL in
Mac Eudora, it sends the URL to my web browser with no
linefeeds. Many other apps do this properly as well.
