Multiheading products ...
There are a number of projects out there pushing this forward. The goal is essentially to eliminate even the cost of a thin client and use the ever increasing power of one PC to serve many users. This really drives down the cost of hardware, leaving only the cost of the software (multiple licenses for one PC?) as the hangup. Linux solves that problem neatly. Here are just a coulple of examples of what is available now:
