Apple should really jump on this

Part of the costs is due to Microsoft's annual Client Access License Fees, which are rediculous. Not to mention Software Assurance.

Since Apple doesn't charge annual fees for using their products, their server products are 4x cheaper than Windows, and support services are cheaper, perhaps the UK should really look towards Apple.

Not only do they get UNIX and support for Open Source alternatives, but they also get support and mainstream commercial applications such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, something that the Open Source solutions lack.
