Bill Gates created the problem he complains about.

He has been instrumental in destroying the value of US technology careers. Now he complains about the result? Hey, Bill, how about fixing the mess you created?

Over the last seven years corporations have imported into the US somewhere in excess of a Million foreign tech workers. Meanwhile overall US Tech employment has dropped from it's peak in late 2000 by at least 30, 40 percent, maybe more.

Those are two edges of the same sword which are cutting apart our tech careers. Right now, job prospects for US tech workers in their once promising career path is very low.

In the US, computer related careers used to be a backup profession for many grads who majored in other scientific fields. The loss of this alternate career strategy has significantly damaged the viability of ALL scientific career paths.

Employers, in general, hire only a small percentage of BS/MS grads for work related to their respective major and/or minor. Many students will NEVER get to work in their respective fields of study after graduation!

The diversity of US tech worker background in the computer fields could very well have been the primary component for most of the past innovation.
(Hint.. a clone of Bill Gates would never get a job at M$ with his lame resume.)

Yet, M$ and many other large corporations advertise tech job openings with a virtual laundry list of prerequists. Where is the diversity of backgrounds? Where is the on job training?

Bill Gates, just who are you fooling?
