Which legal issues?
Are you referring to the fact that StarOffice is proprietary software on a LGPLed base, which as far as I know is legal as long as any changes to the original base are offered (though frowned upon by FSF fanatics), or potential patent issues they may encounter in their strife for MS compatibility and whether one deals with it differently from the other? Or something else altogether?
