perhaps multi desktop environments is not bad

If A company makes a corporate decision to use a certain desktop environment than they would only have to administrate that one cause the administrators would not setup any of the other ones there for you end users would not have that option but I personally like to have multi-desktops I like having a choice the way it works now it is a good interface which allows you in a pretty little gui choose which one you would like to work in linux by the way has standards that all distros use now they differ slightly what they want there system to do best but that is part of the beauty of linux that way it will suite the needs of the end users needs now it could be a little easier and have standards for that true I agree with that but things like the kernel the x-server all those which the desktop environment works on is all a standard only difference is what version and patches have been applied to them maybe perhaps they could develop a standard for what you think is a no standardized thing but it has plenty of standards following plenty of RFC's so that is not a problem but making a default one that all use now that is get the difference linux is built on open standards which the world works on but unlike windows it gives you options and choices in which to use your system now you could perhaps develop and non-tech version of linux that a monkey could use but I believe they already have something called Lindows which looks like and feels like windows on a linux box which is easy for the MS die hards that don't know how to work a linux box to be able to work with it now I know that Lindows is a commerical product I believe but I believe it could easily be done with complete open standards and what not for people that wish to use a stripped linux box just to make it more like a windows box cause linux is not windows they don't want to make it windows it is designed this way for a reason now end users have choices even in windows as to what they want the pretty gui to look like and feel like and how it interacts so what is the difference between having multi-gui's that you get to choose from a pretty little gui when you log in to your computer which (you can even set it up for the non-tech person to not have to enter a password or have to worry about loging in cause you can automate and sure you could develop something that could do it during the install which I must I think linux installs are easier than windows install just for the fact that you can take defaults for almost everything and in fedora you don't even have to set the X-server up it does it automatically there for you don't have to do anything cryptic except in your gui set the color depth and resolution which I must say nearly all people that use a windows box know how to use.
