4/10 It's OK, but not great

I bought this at Best Buy on the recommendation of the salesperson. I asked two questions. The first was whether it came with a cable. I was told it didn't so I bought one. It did come with a cable so I had to return the one I bought. The second question was whether it had OCR software. I was told it did. After trying to scan a document to editable text and only being able to insert an object into a WORD document I contacted HP's email help. After the first rep told me it did have OCR software and gave me instructions on how to use it, I tried the instructions and got to steps that were not in my software and could not get editable text. I recontacted the rep who again assured me that OCR was included and he then moved me up the tech support ladder to a rep who then informed me that it did not have OCR software. Lesson learned is don't believe either Best Buy or HP on this one. It does print nicely and makes good copies, both in color or black and white. I originally wanted to buy a Canon printer and am sorry now that I didn't.
