6/10 Nice printer, lousy tech support

kickinkz - 11/14/08  (Edited: 11/14/08)

I'll try to be straight and to the point. I like the printer, works good when connected to USB. Worked fine when I first installed the software wirelessly except for the memory card slots. They would not transfer information to the computer. I thought I screwed up on th einstall and tried to uninstall and re-install. No such thing as uninstall. HP's software sucks, hands down. There were issues with missing files for the uninstall. I finally gave in and called tech support...2 1/2 hours on the phone totally wasted...they took over my comp, couldn't figure out where the errors came from. They were going to check it out, call back in 5-190 minutes they said...Gave me an incident number...called back, got another person...went through all of the same BS as before...I told her I did that, isn't it on the ticket? Another 2-3 hours later she finally gave up and blew me off...didn't want to deal with me anymore I guess...I was nice, perhaps I had a hard time following her instructions since her english was not exactly understandable. I wanted a wireless printer, never had much trouble with HP's till now. The printer works great connected to the USB otherwise. So I spent a bit more for a wireless printer that I can't use wirelessly...go figure. They said they would call me back the next day to figure it out...they never did. I am giving it a 6 for a rating due to the fact that, yes, the printer is nice, but they're useless when it comes to helping their customers. The moral of this story is, if you buy an HP, and you need to call tech support, don't bother. Take it back to the store and get something else.
