1/10 First HP BIG Disappointment

bellloril - 07/29/09

We picked up one of these to take along on vacation. The hard drive crashed on us 2 weeks after purchase and only one week into our 3.5 week vacation... Get home call HP (India call center) wait for over 30 minutes in the queue to go through the trouble shooting with someone I could barely understand - and who could not function off script. After spending what seemed like eons going through that process, I had to be re-directed to someone else (tech support) who then was able to confirm that yes, in fact, my netbook was kaput. Sending me a box to return for repair. Sending the box 2 day Fed-Ex. Seemed impressive. Get the box - instructions in box indicate a mailing label is enclosed and return address needs to be filled in. No label. Call HP number on instructions - guess where - oh India again. And once again wait for 30 minutes in the queue, to get someone who cannot function off script. I tell them I have a Case# I tell them I have and Order #, but I STILL have to go through all the BS of providing all the my info and equipement nubmers to PROVE to them my identity. (Isn't that what the case# and order# are for?) Again, have to be transferred to a tech representative who informs me that it will cost me $15 to be provided with the shipping label and wants my CC#. I was dumbfounded! Not giving out my CC#! And to make things worse, I had to ask them for the address of the repair center, since no information on where it would be sent was provided with the "box" to return the equipment for repair. Unbelieveable. Shoddy customer service! Not at all what I expected. Will never, ever spend money on HP again!
