1/10 Acer Travelmate 5730 is a faulty model

akbhatia - 07/01/09  (Edited: 07/01/09)

I bought one ACER TRAVELMATE 5730 on 31st March 2009 and since then it is as if my main profession is to go the Acer Service Centre. The display of the laptop goes blank (white) and all the work done is wasted. The cursor jumps so frequently that it takes 2 minutes to type a small sentence. The speaker output is dismal. Acer changed the LCD display, keyboard, mother board, touch-pad, etc. but the problems stayed. Settings were changed several times. The laptop was sent to ACER h/q but the problems were not solved. Then my laptop was replaced. Can you believe it ? all the problems (including display unit, cursor jumping, etc.) occurred in this unit too. Once again I have sent the laptop to the service centre but they hare unable to solve the problems. I have now approached Acer Customer Satisfaction Manager but he is only being polite but is not willing to help. Acer Travelmate 5730 is a faulty model (at least the one being sold in India) I will caution all prospective buyers to refrain from buying this model. The attitude of Acer is non-cooperative and they are simply brushing the problems by closing their eyes.
