6/10 has issues

Nice out of the box but once other support programs (like Utilities 9)added and running encrypted draft-n, it slows down a bit. Video memory, 128 MB, that is shared doesn't leave much for applications. Some reviewers claim you can upgrade memory to 2 GB, which maybe an option worth considering, but may void the warranty. Also I have had difficulties updating the preloaded applications like media player and XP operating system. S/W registration also appears to be a hit or miss, often miss. Often I have to re-register the same software after rebooting PC. It cannot register it's own stylus software. I am not sure how to add software to existing graphic user interface motif. HP server software also appears to have intermittent problems connecting to the server. In a nutshell, this is a laptop configured as a desktop. The problem is the software doesn't recognize it is a desktop. The good news is the price is dropping, this week Frys is selling it for $499, 20 April 2009. Also it has Skype built in and the PC doesn't require any external USB phone, since the built in mic, speakers and video camera will suffice. In the end, the trade off of the Eee Top is the touch screen, which works fine, but without it I would opt for a low cost desktop or laptop or even that small a mac cube computer.
