1/10 HP Pavilion Elite m9400t

Scarlett Rose - 01/27/09

I purchased this computer in December 2008. It has never worked. During initial setup, the monitor could not receive a video signal. After over an hour on the phone with the Tech Dept, I was informed that it had a bad motherboard. I was instructed to send it back for replacement. Unfortunately, I should have demanded a replacement or refund at that point. However, I gave HP the benefit of the doubt and sent the PC in for repair. After approximately 10 days I received the PC back and tried to set it up again. This time I got a HDBIOS-2 error; no boot device. Again, after over an hour with HP Tech Services, I am now told that the hard drive is bad. They told me they would send me a new hard drive for me to install. At that point, I realized that I now have a lemon computer. I told the Tech that I did not want the hard drive and wanted a replacement computer. To make a long story short, after quite some time I was told they were not authorized to do that and I would have to be assigned a Case Manager. The Case Manager that I am assigned to tells me he is not authorized to replace the PC and I should contact HP. I thought that was who I was talking to. Anyway, I was given another number to call and talked to too many people to describe here. Bottom line is: No new computer; no refund. I will now end up with a very expensive paperweight. Don't buy this computer and, take my advice, don't buy an HP.
