- Turbo mode is nice but...
-
I noticed that pictures look really bad when turbo mode is on. I figure
it is because the proxy is shrinking them before sending them to my
phone. I had to turn it off while browsing pictures on Facebook.
I do agree with you about Opera 9.5+ and how nicely it rerenders the
page for different zoom levels. Those who have actually tried both the
iPhone and Opera Mobile have usually preferred Opera Mobile.
However, I've begun to notice a disturbing trend. Some sites examine
the user agent string and give you a nicer layout if it detects that you
are using a Web Kit based browser even though Opera 9.7 actually has
better standards support than most Web Kit browsers (scores 100 on
ACID 3 test, Safari on iPhone doesn't). Hmm, sound like a familiar
situation? *cough* IE only websites *cough*. For that reason, I always
keep Iris installed on my phone. Sites like Facebook and certain
Google pages look much, much better with Iris than they do under
Opera. - Posted by: NonZealot Posted on: 07/20/09 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
