Number of iPhone apps surpass Windows Mobile; 8 months vs 9 years

Not apps

We really should define what an app is ... 99% of iphone apps are just gimmicky toys which dont do much.

eg a Screen Saver != an App and never has been.
an app to turn up the brightness so you can use it as a dodgy torch != an App.

The majortiy of these apps are just glorified
web pages because browser are so crappy != an App ( this includes most of the top 10) .

A lot of "multimedia apps" eg radio stations , because the media players is too crap.

Honestly these are mainly just kids games and gimmicks. Is the iPhone just an expensive toy ?
