It is not at all surprising that ...
... Apple didn't lead the way with A2DP! Why include something they can use to get you to upgrade later? Does 3G and the iPhone ring a bell? Apple has a history of leaving out key features to get the faithfull to run out and replace their older generation products. The Kool-Aid drinkers reward them by doing just that. Or like in the case of the iTouch they will charge you for the ability to turn the feature on in the firmware. Either way they rake in the revenue on their user's stupidity.
