This makes more sense
Amazon should be concerned more about selling books than selling niche hardware. I have always thought smartphones and PDAs (they aren't all dead yet) made more sense for portable book reading than did a large box like the Kindle. Yes, the iPhone/PDA screen is smaller (3.5 in) than the Kindle, but I have been reading books for several years on my PDA with no problem.

"Kindle" on the iPhone may kill the box, but it likely will sell more books in the long run. It's a better investment for Amazon and for users.
