Based upon my current 35-inch Sony CRT,
We will be buying either a Panasonic 42- or 46-inch plasma TV.

The viewing distance guidelines suggest 42-inch, but my wife wants a 46-inch TV.

But, I can guarantee that we will not look at any other sizes.

And, the new TVs are definitely cheaper. Our Sony cost $1800 ten years ago. Anything we buy today would cost $1300 or less. That is in nominal dollars and not real (inflation-adjusted) dollars.
